Chief Purpose of the Position
Bilingual JR Patient Services Representative
This position serves as a primary point of communication for the patients of VCU Dental Care. Utilizing superior customer service skills, the representative will accept incoming phone calls and will offer general information, schedule initial appointments, and forward calls to the appropriate practice(s) as necessary. The representative will also assist the Patient Services Representatives with entering payments and assisting patients at the front-desk check-in stations. The position will also act as the main point of contact with assisting patients on how to use our online Patient Portal and other web resources. The position will work as part of a team to help schedule, route, and confirm patients for Wed PM Screening and to assist patients with contacting appropriate clinics for their dental care needs. The position will be part of a team that helps screen patients coming into the building as part of our new COVID-19 protocol.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities required
Must be bilingual in English/Spanish with the ability to read, write, and speak fluently in English and Spanish.
This role requires a positive, energetic, team-oriented individual who has a strong grasp of dental terminology, can excel in a call center environment, and will happily help others carry out their duties. Candidates who show excellent customer service skills and problem-solving abilities will be highly preferred. Because our practice operates in a paperless/electronic environment, the candidate must be proficient in Windows-based computing.
Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification required
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Working experience providing customer service required.
- 1-3 years of working experience in a medical or dental office preferred.
- Call Center/Contact Center experience strongly preferred.
Hiring Range: commensurate with experience
